Volunteer

Volunteers play a critical role in Inner City Law Center’s operations.

To apply for an internship or other in-office volunteer opportunity with ICLC, please send a resume and cover letter to ICLC’s Director of Pro Bono at probono@innercitylaw.org. Your cover letter should clearly state your proposed availability, including proposed start and end dates, and also any particular skills or interests.

Law Student and Law Graduate Clerkships: Law Clerks gain practical experience in ICLC’s practice areas doing legal research and writing, client interviews, negotiations, public policy work, advocacy and other client work. Law Clerk positions are filled on a rolling basis. During the fall and spring semesters ICLC requires a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week, for 10 weeks. During the summer semester, ICLC requires a minimum commitment of 35 hours per week, for at least 10 weeks.

Undergraduate Volunteers: Undergraduate student volunteer positions are filled on a rolling basis. During the fall and spring semesters ICLC requires a minimum commitment of 8 hours per week, for 10 weeks. During the summer semester ICLC requires a minimum commitment of 16 hours per week, for at least 10 weeks.

Other Volunteers: Inner City Law Center needs help with translation, data entry, filing, photography, event logistics, and various other tasks. If you have a skill that you think might be of assistance to ICLC or our clients please contact our Director of Pro Bono at probono@innercitylaw.org.
